Executive Chairman

Founder and Chairman of Angel Capital Management, a leading private investment firm mainly focused on fast growing Consumer and Lifestyle companies.

Founder and Chairman of Milano Investment Partners.

Has collaborated with Warren Buffett since 2001 to be his "eyes and ears" in the European entrepreneurial landscape.

Since 2006 he has worked together with Howard Schultz to implement the strategy to open and expand Starbucks in Italy.

Starbucks and ACM have co-invested in the Milanese food concept Princi that is now present in numerous countries around the world inside the Roastery.

Vice Chairman of Special Olympics International and Chairman of Special Olympics Italia, an international organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition.

Founder and former Chairman of E-PLANET, a major telecommunication Italian Operator that went public on the Italian Stock Exchange at the beginning of May 2000.

Founder and former Chairman of Sarlux, a company that built and managed an electrical power station with capacity of 550 MW (1996/2002).

Paolo Gualdani

CEO

Paolo earned a Master of Science in “Law and Business Administration” with honors from L. Bocconi University (Milan).

During his course of studies, he has been visiting student at Leonard N. Stern School of Business (New York University) where he earned a place on the “Dean’s Honor Roll”.

He began his professional career in Bain & Co. and then joined Angel Capital Management S.p.A, holding company founded by Angelo Moratti, where he is a member of the Board of Directors since 2008.

He was entrusted with the role of Investment Director, leading the investments in Venture Capital and growth equity mainly focused on undertakings companies active in international consumer/lifestyle tech (such as Deliveroo and Viagogo).

Afterwards he has been appointed CEO of the Family Office and leads the investment activities of the Holding in Italy and abroad, building an asset allocation deeply rooted in alternative investments in private markets, both directly and through Limited Partnership position in primary PE and VC funds based in Silicon Valley.

In 2017, together with Angelo Moratti, he founded Milano Investment Partners SGR S.p.A. an asset management company focused on alternative investment funds in equity/consumer-digital sector. Paolo is CEO and General Partner of the Company.

As part of the first fund (MIP I) Paolo led the investments in Miscusi and Poke House.

He was formerly adjunct professor of Accounting & Financial Statement Analysis at L. Bocconi University.


Marcello Presicci

Institutional & External Relations Director

Manager in the field of communication, lobbying, advocacy and institutional relations. Chairman of the Advisory Board at Fondazione per l'Educazione Finanziaria ed Economica (ABI - Italian Bank Association). Adjunct Professor at LUISS Business School.

Professional journalist with 20+yrs of experience he's the founder of Scuola Politica "Vivere nella Comunità".

He's been called to cover major professional communication assignments on behalf of international and national organizations. He is Brand Ambassador of the magazine FORTUNE USA and Senior Advisor of the american company of consulting: APCO Worldwide.

As part of a long collaboration with the institutions of the Holy See, he organized a three-year Master's degree at the Pontifical Lateran University where he taught "Theories and Techniques of Communication" for 4 years.

He is Senior Advisor of Banca di Verona and Vicenza (BCC Iccrea), Senior Advisor of the O.G.R (Officine Grandi Riparazioni, Turin) and Senior Advisor of Engineering s.p.a

Alberto Corte

Investment Director

Alberto is Investment Director at Angel Capital Management S.p.A. (ACM), where he is mainly focused on private direct investments, from early stage to growth capital and private equity.

He is also Senior Advisor, and former Deputy CEO, of Milano Investment Partners SGR S.p.A., a prominent Italian venture capital player of which ACM is the main shareholder.

Before joining ACM in 2017, Alberto had worked for nearly ten years between management consulting and consumer goods.

Alberto earned a Master of Science in General Management, with honors, from Bocconi University (Milan) and he is passionate of fine food and wine and a professional sommelier.


Lorenzo Pozza

Vice Chairman

Lorenzo Pozza graduated with honors from L. Bocconi University (Milan) with a degree in Business Economics.

He is Associate Professor of Business Administration and Director of the Law and Business Administration major course at L. Bocconi University.

He is Certified Public Accountant and Auditor.

He is founding partner at consulting company Partners CPA in Milan, and he is Director and Statutory Auditor in some major Italian listed companies.

He also seats on the Board of Special Olympics Italy.


David Lane

Advisory Board Member

David Lane serves on Angel Capital Management’s advisory board. He was U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies in Rome from May 2012 to August 2016, representing the United States and promoting policy reforms in the areas of food security and development.

Prior to his service in Rome, Ambassador Lane worked in the Obama administration as assistant to the president and counselor to the White House chief of staff. From 2007 until 2011, he was president and chief executive officer of the ONE Campaign, a global advocacy organization founded by Bono, which focuses on extreme poverty, especially issues of global health, economic development, and effective governance.

From 2001 to 2007, Lane worked for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, leading its public policy and advocacy efforts. In the 1990s, Ambassador Lane held several appointments in the Clinton administration, including executive director of the White House National Economic Council and chief of staff to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.

He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves as chairman of the board of directors for the Stimson Center, a nonpartisan policy research center.

A native of Florida, Lane earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia and a Master of Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

Ash Fontana

Advisory Board Member

Ash Fontana launched Zetta Venture Partners – the first venture capital fund focused on intelligent systems – with Mark Gorenberg. The firm has $185M under management and has invested in 20 companies.

Ash is the primary business partner, board member, and lead investor in companies such as Kaggle, Invenia, Clearbit, Tractable, and Focal Systems.

Before Zetta, Ash started the money side of AngelList, the most successful startup investing platform in the world, by launching online investing, managing $130M over more than 250 funds, creating the first startup “index fund,” and curating investment opportunities across 500,000 companies. He also ran special projects like AngelList’s expansion into Europe and the UK.

Simultaneously, Ash led syndicates and angel investments in Canva, Mixmax, and others.

Ash previously cofounded Topguest, a Founders Fund-backed company that built customer analytics technology for companies like IHG, United, and Caesars Entertainment. Topguest sold in an eight-figure transaction 18 months after the company was founded.

He started his professional career at Macquarie Capital, where he was a top-ranked analyst in private equity, investment banking, and equity research. Academically, he graduated with first class honours in law and finance on five scholarships from the University of Sydney.


Benedetta Bongiorni

Administrative Manager

Benedetta earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with honors from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

She is Administrative Manager at Angel Capital Management since 2013. Prior to this she has worked as accountant for one of the most important chartered accounting firm in Milan.

Cristina Panzera

Executive Assistant

Cristina graduated with a degree in Foreign Literatures and Languages – majored in Philosophy of Language with reference to the pragmatic dimensions of the language.

After a long-term professional career path through one of the most relevant US PR Company and in Lifestyle and Luxury Brands, she joined ACM in 2019.

In 2013 she followed-up the whole IPO process at AIM Italia for one of the companies above.

She is currently involved in various philantrophic activities of which she is deeply passionate and a strongly believer in building consciousness about the importance of ‘Giving Back’.
